MENTAL HEALTH
At Brothers By Choice, We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. It refers to our psychological well-being and affects how we think, feel and act. It encompasses everything from our ability to manage stress and emotions, to our relationships with others, to our overall satisfaction. Taking care of your mental health is essential to living a fulfilling and meaningful life.
As blokes during our early childhood, many of us weren't properly taught how to process our emotions and to truly acknowledge how we were feeling at a particular time. We would always mask our feminine energy in fear of being ridiculed and made fun of by our family members or friends. By doing this we created a negative stigma and bad habits within our lives. We created natural defensive responses and trained our subconscious that it was normal to suppress how we were feeling.
As we grew up, we continued to neglect our inner child and by not being able to properly regulate our emotions, we would become short tempered, angry and self sabotage by pushing people away to protect our feelings. We naturally assumed the role of our masculine energy and neglected our own feelings.
From my own personal experiences and making some very questionable decisions, being involved with the wrong people and doing things that had severe consequences on my life. I eventually came to the realisation that I was the problem. I was solely responsible for my own happiness and I was the reason darkness was consuming my thoughts. It was time I held my self accountable for the things i was doing and the people I was allowing to feed off my energy.
We are all so much more powerful than we are taught, once I was able to change my perspective on life, took my self out of the victim mentality and started to be grateful for every situation being a lesson. I started to stop and reflect on what i was feeling, saying good bye to people and removing my self from environments that were effecting my mental health. I was able to truly start to make a massive difference in aligning my self to my highest purpose and taking control of my mental health.
It is so important to remain true and authentic to our selves, uphold our values and present our selves in a positive light. Set appropriate boundaries and have the self respect to be able to walk away from people and environments that do not align with who we want to be.

conditions
As someone who has personally dealt with mental health conditions, I know firsthand the impact they have on your daily life. When that little black dog wont leave you alone, and you’re trapped overthinking and everything just isn’t going your way. We are all going through our own problems behind closed doors, the earlier we are able to identify what we are thinking, why we are feeling a certain way, we are able to make the appropriate changes. There is only so long that we can, just send it, walk around with our check engine lights on, and not acknowledge its time we give our inner child some love.
Below are several conditions I have been diagnosed with and have become aware of and commented on little things I have done to make subtle changes in my routine and behavior to make life just a little bit easy for my self.
